An Update From Our Chair

Hello everyone.

Autumn is here…. where has our summer gone to?

I don’t know about you, but it is one of my favourite times of the year when you can go
into the garden and harvest all the goodies that you have carefully nurtured during the
growing season. I must admit that it wasn’t easy this year with all of the dry and hot weather, 
but nature has come up trumps, and the rain has soon put the colour back
into the lawns.

I am sure that many of you will have heard about the recent tragic farm accident which 
took the lives of Alan & Rick Ford…… our thoughts go to all of the family. As the recent 
Chairman of the Agricultural Society, Alan was a good friend and support to all involved 
with the Cheshire Show. They will both be sadly missed by all and especially the farming community.

Whilst mentioning the Royal Cheshire Show I hope that many of you will be pleased to hear that, 
after a lot of thought and discussion, we will once again be present next year. On a slightly
bigger scale, we intend to showcase all of your talents, just what the WI has to offer and 
provide welcome refreshments to our visitors. Why not put the 15th & 16th June 2027 into 
your diaries, the schedule should be with you soon.
