Zoom license

Unfortunately despite Jason’s valiant efforts, we have not been able to make any progress with Zoom to get an enhanced NFWI-discount code for federation/WI use. Youthful as we are, they reserve their corporate discounts for organisations working directly with children and young people, so sadly we are just not within their strategic focus. A big thank you however to Jason for working hard to try and secure something via their management team in the US.  However, if your federation is keen to get signed up to Zoom for a longer-term licence then Jason has identified that one of the below options might help:

1) You can use the ZOOMCARES promotional code to receive a 20% discount on annual Zoom licenses. This reduces the cost of the year to £95.92, or £7.99/month instead of the usual £11.99 month-to-month rate. This would also be our suggested approach for individual WIs struggling with the 40 minute meeting limit on the free version or for federations looking to take out an annual license. This is not exclusive to us and is circulated from time to time to customers directly by Zoom but for those who haven’t been offered the deal, this code can be used and passed on to others so please do feel free to share it.

2) Any registered charities can also sign up to Charity Digital Exchange (if your federation uses Office 365, or receives discounted Microsoft products you might already be registered) and receive additional charity-specific discounts. However, this process is slightly convoluted, and so we feel it probably only really makes financial sense if your federation requires at least two Zoom licences.  More details can be found here: https://www.charitydigitalexchange.org/product/8549/zoom-meetings-pro-plan-bundle-1-year-subscription-access-discounted-rates  This option involves a cost for access to the scheme if you are not already registered, but will then provide a discount slightly greater than ZOOMCARES.

Finally, we know some of you have fed back that you are not keen to utilise Zoom and so Jason and the team are continuing to look at other options, and alternatives to Zoom. The team are currently exploring Jitsi (https://meet.jit.si) and so this might be of interest to those of you experiencing a bit of resistance to Zoom from your members.
