Just back from an absolutely fabulous weekend in Lytham with over 90 Cheshire members with a few guests from around the country. Over a third of the members offered an activity, talk or craft. It wouldn’t have been as wonderful without them. The weather was fantastic which was a huge bonus. Everything thing was beached themed from the huge hand painted posters by Lyn on the committee to the fancy dress and evening entertainment by the Lytham Shanty Crew and a fish and chip supper.

Just a few highlights:

Our oldest camper at 82 meeting our youngest at 28.

Fancy Dress on disco night

Fully accessible volleyball – both seated and standing together

Punch and Judy with a Twist!

The kindness of our Camp.

Everyone taking a job over the weekend making the clear up swift and the camp was gleaming.

Our wonderful artist Lyn Jones on our committee who painted all the posters for the barn.

Huge raffle raised money for the Women’s Refuge. Money raised from the raffle £400, WI tea cups and saucer £55 and donations from Sunday sandwiches and remaining food £128.19.
The cream team we had cream and jam for a hundred donated by The Cream Tea Association.

Members brought their wedding dresses to be collected to be made into outfits for baby bereavement outfits

Five Trustees and one ex Trustee attending which included our current Chair Selina Prescott. All contributed from cleaning and running talks and workshops.

Some of the Cheshire Virtual Wheatsheaves using the chance to meet up  coming from around the country.

Our incredible campers who ensured that we had an amazing programme produced by Helen Tyrrell.

All bottles, cardboard, cans and paper were taken home for recycling

Although waste was kept to a minimum any un opened food was taken by a member for the Ukrainian Hub

Half the members had never been to camp before but loved it.  The smiles said it all.

Lots of emotional tears and laughter at the end of the camp ceremony.

Thank you

Alia el Asmar, Helen Tyrrell, Karin Snape, Liz Robertson, Lyn Jones and Wendy Morris
