An Update From Our Chair
Hello
I hope all our WIs have completed their Annual Meetings and may I welcome all new Officers to their respective roles. You have kindly accepted these positions with lots of dedication. Also, may I sincerely thank all those who have stood down for the amazing work put into all you have done during your time in office. However you contribute, you are all brilliant!
As I mentioned at our Autumn meeting at the Storyhouse – I’m still recovering from such a fabulous day – we will be sending out our
Cheshire Show Schedule very soon but, to give you an advanced ‘peak’. I am pleased to say that the Title for 2026 is ‘4 SEASONS’. We have
reduced the classes slightly and they are:
Class 1 – Co-operative (round tables) to depict Winter
Class 2 – Art to depict Spring
Class 3 – Craft to depict Summer and
Class 4 – Produce to depict Autumn.
For more detail, please ask to see the Schedule when it arrives and once launched, it will also be up on the website. Good luck to you all and I can’t wait to see what talent your amazing members create!
As the darker months are in full swing the online WI Learning Hub supported by NFWI is available to all members, mostly free of charge, and non-members can access it too. It’s a massive addition to our membership and skills can be shared with your WI or you could come together and perhaps listen to a talk, try out a craft session or even give a new exercise class a try together. The WI Learning Hub is now providing a Meeting Library for WIs to purchase a set of videos, notes and listing of required equipment and as a bonus WIFI is not needed. This recording can be kept and reused. Why not give it a go? I would love to hear any comments that would help us all improve your WI experience.
We are looking forward to lots of new events and activities over the next few months. The Trustees love thinking up new things to offer the members. Not all work out as we hope but we keep trying to appeal to you all and we are very pleased to be able to offer duplicate events when we are over subscribed. Please tell your members about what’s going on.
Thank you so much to all our members for supporting the Federation over the past months. We have had so much going on and we hope that we were able to offer members something that has interested or inspired them.
Federation Trustee Election time is upon us and the closing date for your voting is coming up very soon. Lancashire Federation have kindly offered to managed our voting process ensuring confidentiality.
I’ll hopefully see you around and about as I travel to see as many of you as possible. Don’t forget we love an invitation!
Very Best Wishes
Selina
