An Update From Our Chair

Welcome back after the summer break. Its been lovely seeing so many of you going on outings, picnics etc whilst others have had a well deserved break. Can you believe we are approaching the WI year end. Please support your Treasurer by getting all your receipts in and put yourself forward for your committee. Its very rewarding and you definitely make friendship which last a lifetime.

As the darker months approach the online WI Learning Hub supported by NFWI is available to all members, mostly free of charge, and non-member can access it too. It’s a massive addition to our membership and skills can be shared with your WI or you could come together and perhaps listen to a talk,  try out a craft session or even give a new exercise class a try together. The WI Learning Hub is now providing a Meeting Library for WIs to purchase a set of videos, notes and listing of required equipment and as a bonus WIFI is not needed. This recording can be kept and reused. Why not give it a go? I would love to hear any comments that would help us all improve your WI experience.

We are looking forward to lots of new events and activities over the next few months.  The Trustees love thinking up new things to offer the members. Not all work out as we hope but we keep trying to appeal to you all and we are very pleased to be able to offer duplicate events when we are over subscribed. Please tell your members about what’s going on.

Thank you so much to all our members for supporting the Federation over the past months. We have had so much going on and we hope that we were able to offer members something that has interested or inspired them.

Can you believe that we are almost at Federation Trustee Election time. We are looking forward to seeing members put themselves forward for the Board and both myself and Susan leicester will be stepping down in February 2026. Please ask your members if they want to put themselves forward. Its very possible that we may need to have a Federation vote which always means that we have keen members wanting to help which is heart warming. If you are unsure what being a Trustee means please do contact me and I will be happy to discuss it with you.

I’ll hopefully see you around and about as I travel to see as many of you as possible. Don’t forget we love an invitation!

Very Best Wishes

Selina
