An Update From Our Chair

Hello

Firstly, may I welcome Ladybridge WI(Cheadle Hulme) to our ranks. Our newest WI and, having met lots of them when they formed late last year, I know these very enthusiastic members will have a terrific time supporting each other and their community.

Following the tradition set last year, we are again including a report for 2025 from me and our sub-committees. Reading these here instead of them being hidden away in the Federation Yearbook gives everyone a flavour of the fantastic events offered by our committees and a sight of just how much fun – and work – they all share. Please read them and judge which one you would like to be a part of –new faces, fresh ideas and spreading the workload is key to continuing what the Federation offers.

Also, I can tell you these committees have events for 2026 well in their sights and your Secretary will already have received the first batch of flyers. Please join in and support these very hard-working members whose voluntary contribution cannot be overstated.

Many of you will be observing special birthdays this year and those are incredible achievements. I have luckily been invited to some of them – and to everyone celebrating those upcoming milestones, well done and congratulations to you all. Travelling around the Federation and meeting members is extraordinary and memorable so, thank you for making any of your visitors so very welcome with the usual and amazing WI hospitality.

We are indebted to the Cheshire Agricultural Society for their exceptional generosity in offering reduced-price tickets to WI members for this year’s Royal Cheshire County Show and also for their backing and endorsement of the WI. Are you working on your entries for this year? I do hope so as it would be brilliant to have lots of your talents on display, along with stewarding and offering refreshments plus your wonderful cakes!!As usual, my very best wishes and thanks to you all.

Very Best Wishes

Selina
