Cheshire Federation was well represented at the Climate Change Lobby ‘The Time is Now‘ held at Westminster on Wednesday 26th June from 1pm to 4.30pm to draw the attention of MPs to the problems of pollution and climate change and to ensure the the UK continues to take a lead in global efforts to address these problems by reducing both emissions and pollution.
Organised by the Climate Coalition as part of Speak Up Week the aim of the lobby, at which many diverse organisations, including the NFWI, representing millions of people were present, was to highlight the number of people who wish to leave a legacy to be proud of for future generations since we are the the final generation which is realistically able to limit, maybe reverse, global warming.
Both Chester Devas and Whitely WI were there. Helen Tandy, Chester Devas WI writes ‘ … a great day #TheTimeisNow, great feeling being part of the day. Our MP @ChrisM4Chester came to talk to all the #Chester constituents today’. Whiteley WI was there too when Susan Lynch and Pat Sharp met up with local MP Ester McVey.
