Archives Committee

Our Archives Committee helps to preserve and celebrate the history of the Women’s Institute across the Federation.

Our archives hold a fascinating record of WI life over the years — from minutes and photographs to programmes, publications and memorabilia. These records tell the story of our WIs, our members and the many ways the organisation has contributed to communities across the Federation.

Our team of dedicated archivists is continually looking at new ways to care for, organise and make better use of these important collections. We are developing improved systems, introducing new software and exploring different ways of working to ensure that our WI history is preserved for future generations.

Get involved

Do you have an interest in local history, research, photographs or simply love finding out how things were done in the past? You could be just the person we’re looking for.

We are always happy to hear from members who would like to learn more about the archives or perhaps get involved with the committee. You don’t need to be an archivist or a historian — enthusiasm and curiosity are a great place to start.
