Yesterday, Cheshire Federation of WIs had the pleasure of exhibiting at the Greater Manchester Green Summit – and what a fantastic day it was.
The event began with a plenary session led by Andy Burnham, Mayor of Greater Manchester, setting the tone for a day focused on ambition, action and collaboration in tackling climate change.
Our brilliant Climate Ambassadors were once again on hand, sharing creative and practical ways the WI is supporting the fight against climate change. With over 2,000 attendees, they were kept busy throughout the day answering lots of questions and sparking inspiring conversations.
Held in the vibrant city of Greater Manchester, the Summit showcased the region’s ambitious plans to become carbon neutral within the next ten years. Each year, this event highlights the progress being made – and the determination to go even further.
We were especially inspired by the venue itself, Co-op Live, the UK’s largest live entertainment arena. It has recently been named A Greener Arena 2025, receiving ‘Highly Commended’ status as part of the A Greener Future certification – recognising its strong commitment to protecting our planet.
