The Royal Cheshire County Show 2023 was a wonderful celebration of the Cheshire countryside, agriculture, food & family fun, The Royal Cheshire County Show celebrated its 185th year in 2023. Cheshire Federation of Women’s Institutes was delighted to be part of The Royal Cheshire County Show once again and would like to thank the Cheshire Agricultural Society for inviting us to take part in this popular annual county event.
Our theme this year was ‘Once Upon A Time’ which gave the members the opportunity to depict the magic of pantomime, magical lands, beloved children’s books, film and theatre to name a few. Exhibits were a mix of individual entries and combined entries. We welcomed visitors from far and wide to the WI Marquee’ area during the two days of the show.
We were especially appreciative for members of the Agricultural Society and Lady Bromley-Davenport for presenting the prizes and taking an interest in the exhibits. Diane Coulton received an extra special recognition for her length of service as Show Secretary presented to her by the Agricultural Society. A very proud moment.
The incredible entries submitted by the members were of such a high standard but also included many members entering for the first time. We are pleased to say that the number of entrants had increased from the previous year.
We are especially thankful to all the members and their partners for their time given freely to ensure this was such an amazing event. And a special thanks to the Cheshire Show Committee for which their work over the past year has resulted in a well run Show which was so well received by the public. Here are just a few examples of our wonderful volunteers. There were so many more!
