What a fabulous day we’ve had at Wirral Hospice St John’s at their NGS Open Garden event, admiring the beautiful displays of plants and flowers, listening to wonderful music and singing from Cantemus at Calday Choir, including one of our members, Helen, and sampling the homemade cakes and refreshments. All the hard work from volunteers over the past few months has certainly paid off, the garden looks fantastic and we’re so pleased to have been able to help such a worthy cause.
We also had the pleasure of seeing Dame Patricia Routledge, who came to cut the ribbon and officially opening the garden. What a treat!
We would like to say a special thank you to Cheshire Federation Chairwoman, Jean Harding, who kindly came to support us today. Jean had the brilliant idea of challenging WIs to plant trees to tie in with our centenary celebrations this year, so Wirral Belles gladly donated an acer to the hospice garden and Jean came today to see it planted in all it’s glory! We look forward to seeing you again, Jean, and thank you again for coming.
If you would like to visit the garden and support the hospice, the open event continues tomorrow🌷🌿🌼
