Rising to The Challenge!

Once again, Little Stanney W.I. rose to the Challenge set by the Cheshire Federation President Jean Harding which was for every W.I. in Cheshire to plant a tree to celebrate the Centenary of the Cheshire Federation of W.I’s.

On a cold Wednesday morning in October members of Little Stanney W.I. met at Bridge Community Farm to plant a Copper Beech. We were delighted that Jean Harding could attend as well as Mayor Michael Edwardson, Councillor Gareth Gould and Justin Madders. It was a truly memorable occasion followed by bowls of very welcome delicious, hot, steaming homemade soup.

Also, on display were gardening tools bought with money raised by Little Stanney W.I. These tools will be well used by the many who use this ‘Wellness Centre.’
