What a great way to celebrate our 95th birthday! A funny but thought provoking sketch about the suffragettes, the Milner decorated beautifully, cupcakes, fizz and, of course, friends to share it with.
Shirley Tempest, one of the members put a message on Facebook: Ladies you were awesome, from the decoration of the hall, the detail and effort spent researching and presenting the events to the wonderful acting. Well done to you all.

In 2023, Moore and Daresbury WI will be 100 years old. This year, Heritage Open Days are celebrating ‘Extraordinary Women’. Both events will be celebrated in the parish. We have minute books and other paraphernalia going back to 1925 and a small group of members has begun to trawl through it all. We don’t know what we’ll find, but we will certainly be sharing it all with you. Maybe YOU have some old photos and artefacts that would be of interest to us all. If so, and if you are willing to share them, then please let us know. We’d be very grateful!

May 13 1948 – Our 25th Birthday!
Mrs Woulds had made a huge birthday cake from ingredients supplied by members. Mrs Wynne Jones cut the cake and told ‘…how she had visited London to see about starting a WI and coupled Mrs Wallington’s name with the growth and success of the Institute during these years……Cups of tea and birthday cake were then served by the hostesses, Mrs Andrews, Mrs Price and Mrs H Cartwright. She also wished the Institute success for many years to come.
And here we are, still a successful WI 70 years later!
