On the 5th July Dunham Massey W.I. held their Centenary dinner at the Dunham Massey Hall Stables restaurant.

The dinner was attended by honouree guests Mr and Mrs Chesters-Thompson (Lady Stamford’s Great Granddaughter), the W.I. Federation President Jean Harding and Vice President Selina Prescott, a few of local Institutes Presidents, various guests and W.I. members.

All guests were greeted at the door with a glass of Prosecco or soft drink and then we were called to order by the Master of Ceremonies Mr Peter Powell (Altrincham Town Crier) who requested us all to take our seats for a two-course meal whilst the Salix Quartet entertained us with some light music.  The meal was enjoyed by all.

This was followed by a number of speeches and our President Sue was presented with a plaque and certificate by the Federation President.  Sue also cut the centenary cake which was made by Sue Dempster.

Once the meal was over, we were entertained by Sam Austin who sang a number of lovely songs accompanying himself by guitar.

A lovely evening was enjoyed by all.
