Diary of a Centenary Bag – Members of Fulshaw, Cale Green, Didsbury Village and Great Moor & District WIs all in the North East Cheshire Group travelled to Spud Wood in Lymm today to plant trees. Fulshaw’s Secretary Amanda organised the day liaising with the Woodland Trust and ‘Friends of Spud Wood’.
We thought we were going to plant 200 trees, when we arrived were told 300 and when we finished were told 400.
We worked in pairs with a member of the friends of Spud Wood and found in their midst Pauline from Lymm Jubilee WI.
We are happy to claim that number for our Chairman”s Centenary Challenge.
Even the bag joined in!

Well done to you all, so pleased with your 400 trees. Thank you for all your hard work and what a fantastic achievement. I will certainly visit the area to see the results of your hard work. Sorry I could not be with you but I was out with my WI Eastham WI, on the Floating Grace on a tour of Liverpool Docks, fantastic commentary whilst having afternoon tea!!.
Thank you again for your excellent planting.
