Well done Cheshire WIs you certainly are rising to my challenge for every WI to plant a tree for the Federation’s Centenary in 2020.
I have been to several plantings and keep hearing about plans to plant. It will be so good to see how many have been planted as we celebrate our 100 years. Thank you, you are such amazing members. Jean Harding, Federation Chairman
Do send in photos so we can publish them for everyone to see

Some WIs plant trees but don’t send us copies of their photos to share with you but we are pleased to hear they have joined the challenge:
GLAZEBURY used the services of their oldest and youngest members to plant their commemorative tree.
CULCHETH also report their successful planting.
RUNCORN WI have already planted two. A birch at Norton Priory and an apple tree in the Old Town Bloom Garden, Runcorn. We hope to plant at least one more this year somewhere else in Runcorn
SANDBACH kindly planted a tree at Brook Court before the WI sadly suspended.
Other WIs planning their tree planting are:
The Heatons
A few Wallasey WIs are joining together and will be planting 60 trees in November in Central Park, Liscard.
Haslington WI are planting trees and presenting a bench to the village for members to sit on.
Great Moor and District are looking for a suitable place to plant a tree.
Poynton WI are working with Poynton In Bloom to identify the best location and type of tree then we hope to have the planting this Spring. We are going to ask Men in Sheds if they will make a small plaque for the flower bed. We like to involve the local community if possible.
Park – Appleton WI is planning to plant a tree near to where we meet.
