Yesterday, Cheshire Federation of WIs welcomed over 159 members to our annual Literary Lunch at Hartford Golf Club for a wonderful afternoon of books and conversation.A huge thank you to our Cheshire News Editor, Pat Sharp, and her team for organising such a successful event.
We were delighted to welcome bestselling author Jane Costello as our guest speaker. Jane has written 16 novels, with her books translated into 26 languages plus she has won the Romantic Novelists’ Award – twice and enjoyed by readers around the world. She gave a fascinating and entertaining insight into her writing journey, sharing the joys, challenges and realities of being a romantic fiction author, as well as how the genre is sometimes perceived within the literary world. Her warmth and humour made for a truly engaging talk.
It was lovely to catch up with members from across the Federation, enjoy a delicious lunch in the beautiful surroundings of Hartford Golf Club, and spend time celebrating our shared love of reading. We also suspect that a few book recommendations—and perhaps even a few book titles for WI book clubs—were exchanged before everyone headed home.
A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the day such a success.
Thank you to Val Miller of Cuddington and Sandiway WI for the beautiful floral arrangements and to Hartford Golf Club for the beautiful food and service. Its not an easy feat cooking and providing exceptional service for such a huge number of guests. Also, a special thank you to The Curious Cat Bookshop, Frodsham for supporting Jane selling her books.
