This years Annual Council Meeting was a little bit different this year. We welcomed our Presidents for an opportunity to mingle and learn some hints and tips as well as complete the Annual Council business at Hartford Golf Club, Burrows Hill, Hartford. The day also enabled the Trustees to show their appreciation to the Presidents for their hard work and commitment they show over their tenure.  A lovely lunch made the day  a great social event.

Karen Monks, our Federation Secretary supported the day and was thanked by Selina for her help and support organising the event. Both Selina Prescott, Cheshire Federation Chair and Ann Beckett, Cheshire Honorary Treasurer had the opportunity to give their remarks and present the Trustee Report and Accounts for 2023.  Trustees Wendy Morris, Ann Pye and Vivien Lee presented information on the WI Learning Hub, the MCS and hints and tips to support the Presidents role.  Susan leicester led the members singing Jerusalem and the National Anthem. All the Trustees and WI Advisers supported the event throughout the day.

We also said a sad farewell to Sybil Graham who has supported the Federation in many guises including being a Trustee and was stepping down. We are very grateful for all she has done and she will be greatly missed, however, she will continue as a WI member  at Handbridge WI.

Ann Jones, Chair of National Federation of WIs gave an inspiring talk about her life and journey to become the National Chair and also there was an opportunity to ask those searching questions from the members.

Certificates were presented for major WI Birthdays and the 2024 Winter Photographic Competition and the 2024 Press Release Competition.

The beautiful flowers were provided by Brenda Proudlove.

A full write up will appear in the next Cheshire News supported by the editorial team.

Photos throughout the day were taken by Alia el Asmar from the Website and Social Media Team
