Here in Cheshire Federation of WIs every year during Great Big Green Week (June) we change the map icon of our WIs to green if they take action to reduce their collective carbon footprint. To support this, we offer a workshop in March with some ideas that delegates can take back to their Wis.
We had an excellent day again this year, led by our Climate Ambassador team, 48 people learned about Gardening in a Changing Climate, Nutrition in a Changing Climate and how to make a Climate Clock using the climate stripes. We gave everyone instructions for the Clock and a pdf of the clock face that fits perfectly on a cake board.
Several members suggested we send them to our MPs which I thought was a great idea.
The vegan mayonnaise and No Dig Gardens ideas were a smash hit.
