Green Dot Day 2023

Every year Cheshire Climate Ambassadors ask all WIs to do something during Great Big Green Week (10th – 18th June) to reduce their collective carbon footprint. If they  let us know what they have done, their marker on the map of the Federation turns green. This year the Ambassadors put on a Green Dot Day on April 22nd, to give delegates from Cheshire WIs ideas on what their WI could do. We offered 8 workshops: Climate Action Books and resources, Making a Climate Bookmark, a  WI Freecycle setup, Homemade cosmetics, How to  grow Microgreens, Low carbon natural cleaning, Making a Bee Hotel and Vegan cooking.

There was also a Wildlife Game, a science talk about the carbon cycle and a Green Raffle to demonstrate what could be done in their meetings.

It went really well, all the delegates joined in wholeheartedly and were passionate and interested in the Climate Crisis. We got some great feedback, and our Delegates will now be delivering our workshops to their WIs.

We hope the Cheshire Federation map will be a lovely shade of green this year!
