Disability Awareness Day (DAD) is the world’s largest ‘not for profit’ voluntary led disability exhibition.  This annual event is held in Walton Gardens near Stockton Heath, Warrington on a Sunday in July.

It was a great opportunity to CFWI to mix with the General Public, to highlight that our organisation definitely focuses on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion. As well as promoting the WI in a new environment, all team members were made to feel very welcome with lots of interest from women, families, carers and carees.

DAD promotes a ‘Can Do’ culture and that was certainly the case on the day. Plus, there was so much more at the event for visitors to see and do. Thank you to Sue Bentley MBE, CFWI Trustee, for suggesting attendance at this event and to the brilliant team who were great ambassadors for the WI. It was also lovely to see some of our members passing by and stopping for a chat.
