The Leisure for Pleasure sub-committee had their first meeting in December 2022. They now meet 4 times a year both on-line and F2F. Our aim is to offer and facilitate a wide variety of activities and events that will appeal to our members.
To date we have offered online Pilates for the first 8-9 weeks of 2023, 2024 2025 and 2026 to encourage our members to get moving. Many have joined in each year.
We have seen events such as the Boat trip,Treasure Hunt and lunch back at WI House oversubscribed each time we have run it. We have organised Jigsaw Races, Ghost Walks and theatre trips. In 2024 we organised CFWI’s first WI camp with 100 members attending. This was very successful so we repeated the camp in 2025 and well be back in Fylde in June 2026.
Our Monopoly Races in Stockport and Port Sunlight saw over 125 members at each from all over the Federation take the challenge and land on most of the locations getting to know the towns in the process. We are planning a couple more for the future.
Our Challenge Cheshire event was well received so we will be repeating that one and the team are about to embark on another year of organising events we hope members will enjoy! If you would like to join us or have any suggestions for events email in, giving your name and WI.
