In 2017 we will be basing our theme around the recipes and books produced by Cheshire WI’s.
In December we followed up our Royal Cheshire Show Stand with an exhibition of the textiles stored at WI house. The response was amazing – a big thanks to all those who visited. We hope you enjoyed your day and didn’t spend too much money Christmas shopping in Chester.

Is an exhibition to show all our WI’s archives and records. It is being held at WI House, 11 White Friars, Chester. CH1 1NZ from Tuesday 9th until Thursday 11th February from 11am-3.30pm each day.
Nobody has to book, just come along and visit your house.
There is no charge to come in, we just want members to come in and enjoy WI House and see what the response has been to the invitation to show what institutes have done to mark our very special year of 2015.
Tea, coffee and biscuits will be served, a charge will be made for them.
We are delighted with the response to our invitation, so many WI’s bringing their offerings in during this week, many for the first time coming into WI House and being made welcome to “their” house.
It is what we have tried to do during the last few years, to get members to realise it is their house, their Federation, we are all in it together.
To celebrate Cheshire’s 95th Anniversary and the Centenary pf the NFWI the Federation Archive Team are suggesting that WIs produce a record of ‘Our WI in 2015′ which captures the essence of your WI during this historical year for the organisation.
This should be a permanent record of your WI in 2015, which can be used, kept and stored for the future. During 2016 the Federation will provide an opportunity for WIs to display their items for other members of the WIs to see.
How and what you produce is entirely up to you, but a few suggestions are:
The outcome should be a piece of memorabilia for your WI, consider it as an item for your memory box.
We have organised some open days at WI House. Check the events calendar for further information.
