Come with the Public Affairs team on Saturday 19th July 2025 to hear about the fascinating Hydroelectric plant located on the edge of the beautiful village of Holmes Chapel, which generates clean electricity using the ancient Archimedes Screw method.

The trip will cost £22 per member to include a two-course lunch.

We will meet up at the Vicarage, Cranage (CW4 8EF) at 12 Noon for lunch and after lunch Dr Mark Rippon, the instigator and owner of the Hydro Plant, will explain the science behind the green power it generates.  This will be followed by a short walk to view the outside of the power plant.
