The Public Affairs Sub-committee invites CFWI Members to explore the Mersey Gateway and enjoy a Science-based educational event at Spike Island in Widnes on Wednesday 24th April 10am – 3pm

We will meet at the Catalyst Science Museum in Widnes (WA8 0DF) which is next to Spike Island nature reserve and has a large free car park.   After tea or coffee on arrival there will be an hour to explore the museum followed by a talk by Dr Andrea Drewitt.

After lunch Dr Andrew Wolfenden will show us, on Spike Island, how to collect aquatic samples with nets  This will be followed by a guided walk, led by Dr Drewitt (under 2 miles) around the saltmarsh, whilst doing some citizen science wildlife recording
