Climate Change Week of Action in Cheshire

Speak Up Week of Action 1st to 9th July 2017

The Week of Action has been planned to allow the members of the Climate Coalition to demonstrate to our leaders in both politics and industry that people DO care, that we LOVE our planet and want them to take action to tackle climate change. If people are talking about climate change, they are going to believe we care.

Cheshire Meres and Mosses Walk

Lowland raised peat bogs are one of the most endangered habitats on Earth and climate change is a major threat to them. Cheshire Public Affairs Committee are encouraging members to walk around some of the Mosses on Saturday 1st July and take photographs of the lush parts, the dried up edges and other evidence of climate change – for example broom is already in flower. These photographs can be sent to sue.bentley@fightclimatechange.org.uk and the best one will win a prize of the new Ladybird Book for Adults by Prince Charles “Climate Change”. A selection of the photos will be put on social media, and various websites, as a gallery capturing the beauty and the threatened nature of peat bogs in Cheshire.
