It was such a pleasure for our Federation Chairman Selina Prescott and Federation Trustee Sybil Graham to attend the National Harvest Service which was held in Chester Cathedral.
This is held every year in different parts of the country. A Harvest Torch has been handed from city to city with the National Harvest Service since its inception in 2013. It is a specially commissioned sculpture depicting harvest’s natural bounty and is the farming community’s answer to the Olympic Torch.
We were especially honoured to be asked to provide a floral display to stand alongside the torch. Dorothy Monks along with our Federation Secretary Karen Monks did a fabulous job with flowers sponsored by Nantwich Cheese Shop.
With special thanks to thanks to Revd Anne Lawson, Vicar of The Cross Country Parishes of Acton, Church Minshull, Worleston and Wettenhall and Chaplain to the Cheshire Agricultural Society for her and her teams organisation.
