Activities
We aim to enjoy ourselves and apart from welcoming a wide range of speakers to our meetings, we also have a Darts and Bowls Team who enter Group and County competitions and who have lots of fun and usually do very well! Our Quiz Team carries the flag nobly in the County Quiz and we also enjoy days out and meals at local hostelries. Over the past couple of years we have once again, been entering the W.I. classes at the Cheshire Show and this not only challenges our skills in both cookery and craft, but also our organisational skills. Our meetings take place in a relaxed atmosphere and we welcome guests warmly.
Ashton Hayes – Supporting Local Projects
Ashton Hayes W.I. supports the Going Carbon Neutral Project, which has put Ashton Hayes on the national and local media map and which continues to aim to make the village the first carbon neutral village in the UK. We also support other local projects, such as the Ash-worth Time Bank and the Ashton Hayes Sports and Recreation Association and the Community Shop.

and received the trophy

Cheshire Show 2016 – We have entered one of the co-operative classes for this year’s Show. Good Luck to everyone who is taking part.
Our lovely WI Hall
Unfortunately, and after much heart-searching deliberation, we had to make the awful decision to close the W.I. Hall. Financially, we could not support the upkeep of the Hall any longer, owing to a decline in bookings over the past couple of years. At present, the Hall and the accompanying land, has been offered to Ashton Hayes Parish Council to buy for community use. We await their decision. Ashton Hayes W.I. has not folded – we now hold our meetings in The Parish Rooms in West End, Ashton Hayes.
