Clean For The Queen

Lots of you had a day tidying up your local community for the Queen’s 90th birthday yesterday.

Jean tells us about Eastham WI:

My WI members, Eastham WI, took part in the Clean For The Queen yesterday.  We thoroughly enjoyed the morning and the weather was kind as we cleared around our library and local car park.

Our sign attracted much attention but the best question we had was “Are you ladies doing Community Service!!

Lorraine sent a message about Frodsham WI and Fiona Barry sent in the photo:

Lorraine Williams Yes Frodsham WI also did clean for the Queen yesterday, and I kept telling people that it was the WI and not punishment for misdemeanours !!
It gave us all a very good feeling when we looked at the results of our efforts.

Hough WI:

‘Cleaning for the Queen’ – Friday 10.30 – 1.00pm, sprucing up the village hall car park, flower beds, etc., everyone welcome, come along with your gardening or marigold gloves – it will be fun and of course there will be a cup of tea too!!!   THANK YOU ALL WHO CONTRIBUTED TODAY – DISPITE THE DREADFUL WEATHER – A VERY SMART VILLAGE HALL FRONTAGE ACHIEVED

Birchwood WI (proudly wearing Green Heart Badges!) joined a local community group for a Clean for the Queen event on 5th March, collecting litter in our local park and woodland. A fun afternoon with a good outcome. The abandoned trolley came in useful to carry some of the bags too!
